Sherpa

Citind despre Tenzing Norgay, am descoperit o vorba din batrani(a serpasilor nepalezi), care zice cam asa:

''Juramintele se fac in mijlocul furtunii. Adica degeaba ne laudam la gura focului. Asta poate orice om slab. Serpasii insa urca muntele si cand se porneste viscolul se aduna roata, se prind pe dupa umeri si isi spun: pana maine vor fi sapte barbati in virful muntelui sau sapte vaduve in sat''.

Tenzing Norgay(alias Sherpa) este ghidul care l-a insotit pe Sir Edmund Hillary pe Everest(Chomolungma - in limba tibetana sau Sagarmatha - in limba nepaleza). La coborare a avut loc urmatorul dialog:

Reporter : how is your feeling by conquering the Mount Everest?

Tenzing Norgay : very happy!

Reporter : you just a Sherpa (a guide) for Edmund Hillary, of course you are in front of him, shouldn’t you be the first person who put your foot on the Mount Everest?

Tenzing Norgay : yes, that’s true. At the last steps, I let him to put his foot and became the first person who climbed the Mount Everest.

Reporter : why did you do that?

Tenzing Norgay : because that was his dream, not mine. My dream was sucessfully escorted him and helped him chased his dream.

Apropo de raspunsuri(celebre):
primul om despre care se presupune ca a ajuns pe Everest (se presupune - pentru ca nu s-a mai intors) a fost britanicul George Mallory. Chiar in anul celei de-a treia incercari (1924) a fost intrebat de ce vrea sa urce pe Everest, iar raspunsul lui a fost: ''Because it’s there''.
